On Monday, we honored 19 outstanding 9th graders at our Freshmen Success Awards Ceremony! These students were nominated by staff for showing exceptional growth, dedicated effort, and remarkable achievement throughout the first trimester. 🌟
👏 Congratulations to all of our award recipients! Keep striving, keep growing, and keep representing Columbia High School well!🐻❤️

Things got real in Mrs. Kock’s Anatomy & Physiology class today—our CHS students literally got their hands on the cardiovascular system with a pig heart dissection! ❤️
From valves to ventricles, they explored every twist and turn of this incredible organ. Science has never been so hands-on… or so cool! 😄🫀
A massive shoutout to Mountain Valley Meat for donating the pig hearts and helping bring our learning to life! 🙌

After qualifying to state for the first time in our school’s history, they battled hard and finished 8th overall, bringing home a trophy and memories we’ll be celebrating for a long time. 🏆
A huge congratulations to Coach Heidi and Coach Aly for their leadership and dedication. And a heartfelt thank-you to our amazing seniors — Sara, Kiana, Bella, and Olivia — for everything you’ve poured into this program. You’ve left a legacy we’re so proud of. ❤️🖤
The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see watch this team in action again next year! 🏐🏆🐻

Day 1 of the State Volleyball Tournament! 🏐❤️
The girls continue to make history — earning the first state berth in school history and now advancing to Day 2 of competition!
They opened the day with a tough battle against the #3-seeded Cascade Christian, coming up just short. But they responded with heart and grit ❤️, sweeping Lakeside 25–18, 25–21, 25–20 to keep the dream alive and move forward! 🙌🔥
Huge congratulations to Sara Miller and Fiona Grabb, recipients of the GESA Sportsmanship Awards — a well-earned honor! ❤️
The team will take on Annie Wright tomorrow at 9 AM at the Yakima SunDome. Let’s cheer them on as they continue this historic run! 💪❤️🏐

On Monday, CHS proudly honored Veterans Day with a meaningful assembly featuring three incredible guest speakers from American Legion Post 87—Wrestling Coach Dave Blevins, alum Kelly F. Mitchell, and Commander Bill Caldwell. We also recognized one of our own students who has enlisted in the Army National Guard, Belen Birrueta-Saucedo, who shared what service means to her.
Our school band set a powerful tone for the event, performing the National Anthem and the Armed Forces Medley. Thank you as well to the American Legion Color Guard for presenting the colors, and to our ASB President Graham Beck and Student School Board Representative, Mayra Juarez-Santoyo, for serving as outstanding MCs.
We are grateful for the service, sacrifice, and inspiration shared with our community. ❤️🤍💙

Columbia High School came together to honor and celebrate Día de los Muertos — a time to remember loved ones and celebrate life. Students and staff members were encouraged to submit photos for the ofrendas that decorated A Court. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Raíces Club, Mr. Isordia, and Ms. Sacquety, students and staff enjoyed beautiful altars, vibrant decorations, and cultural traditions. The event showcased our diverse school community and provided an authentic cultural learning experience led by passionate student leaders 🏵️✨🕯️
