🏵️💀 Celebrating Día de los Muertos! 💀🏵️
Columbia High School came together to honor and celebrate Día de los Muertos — a time to remember loved ones and celebrate life. Students and staff members were encouraged to submit photos for the ofrendas that decorated A Court. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Raíces Club, Mr. Isordia, and Ms. Sacquety, students and staff enjoyed beautiful altars, vibrant decorations, and cultural traditions. The event showcased our diverse school community and provided an authentic cultural learning experience led by passionate student leaders 🏵️✨🕯️

In the last few days of the 24-25 school year the CHS Chemistry class put their knowledge to a test in a bake off. After learning about the role each ingredient plays in making a cookie, students changed one variable of a chocolate chip cookie recipe. Proportion of brown to white sugar, number of eggs, amount of flour, and baking soda vs baking powder were all tested. Mr Gross evaluated the cookies and determined Sara and Grace’s cookie with more brown sugar than white sugar was the winner, but all cookies were good. Good work, all!
