CHS Families,
I want to start by saying thank you for all you have done to help your student/s to be successful this year. As we head into the home stretch for this school year, I wanted to make sure you had the most up-to-date information on A and B cohorts coming back to in-person instruction four days a week, Advisory time change, graduation, and the superintendent community forum.
In-Person Instruction Four Days a Week
On Monday, April 26, A and B cohorts will be coming back to school four days a week. They will be attending in-person instruction Monday through Thursday from 8:15 until 12:30. Friday will continue to be a distance learning day. Because of the three-foot classroom social distancing rule, each classroom has a maximum number of students that can be placed in that room. At this time, we have enough space for all our A and B cohort students to attend their classes. If your distance learning student/s wants to come back to in-person instruction, please contact the CHS main office at (509) 493-1970 and press 0. This will allow them to start in-person learning as soon as possible. Once we reach the maximum capacity in a classroom, we cannot allow any more students in that room.
Advisory Class Change
Starting the week of April 26 through April 30, our Advisory class will change from 10:00 a.m. on Fridays to 8:15 a.m. on Thursdays. The change will allow our A and B cohorts to have face-to-face instruction during our advisory period. Our distance learning students will need to continue to use the advisory google classroom.
Graduation
Columbia High School and White Salmon Academy graduation will be held at the CHS Stadium on Saturday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m. Each graduate will have up to four tickets to hand out to family and friends. We can only have four hundred people at the graduation ceremony, not counting graduates or school staff members. In the next couple of weeks, our senior’s families will be receiving a detailed graduation information letter.
Superintendent Community Forum
There will be a Zoom community forum to meet our superintendent candidates on April 22, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
