In order to provide additional information to assist the White Salmon Valley School District Board of Directors select the district’s next superintendent, the School Board is inviting employees and patrons to participate in one of two opportunities. The first opportunity is to observe the candidate interviews. This will take approximately three hours. The second is to observe the candidates in a community forum. This will take an hour and a half.
The School Board will conduct interviews beginning at 4:00 p.m. on April 22nd. Each interview will be approximately one hour long. The Board of Directors intends to invite twelve district employees and twelve parents and community members to serve on an Interview Observation Panel. Community members or district employees not selected for the Observation Panel may participate in the interview process by observing via Zoom, or they may choose to participate by observing the Community Forums that will also take place on the evening of the 22nd. The Community Forums will begin at 5:30. Each candidate will be available for a half-hour. At the conclusion of the interviews panelists and those who watched all three interviews, will be eligible to provide feedback to the board. The community forum observers, if they have watched all three candidates, can submit their input to the school board as well. Feedback will be submitted via a Google form that will be shared at that time.
At the conclusion of the interviews and community forums the Board will meet in executive session to evaluate the candidates and feedback. The first order of business in the executive session will be to review the input from members of the Interview Panel and other observers, and from those who observed the Community Forums.
