THE BRUIN CLUB LAUNCHES IN WHITE SALMON!

Community Tailgate Party set for September 8th at Columbia High School (Before the Football game vs. Stevenson High School @ 7 p.m.)

White Salmon, WA – The Bruin Club launches in White Salmon, WA in an effort to raise money and bring community involvement to ALL of the sports programs of Columbia High School. The Bruin Club was created to broaden the involvement of students, students’ families. the school,  and the community by supporting the success of student athletics connected with Columbia High  School. 

The first major event of the 2023-24 school year will be a Community Tailgate before the first home game of the CHS Football Season. The Columbia High School Bruins will be hosting The  Stevenson High School Bulldogs with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off. The Community tailgate will be held from  4-6:30 pm at CHS with live band, food, raffle prizes, and more. 

“We believe this new organization will provide an opportunity for everyone in the White Salmon Bingen communities to be involved with and support the high school’s athletics programs,” said  Sean Ciemiewicz, 2023-24 President of The Bruin Club. “Our mission is to broaden, enhance, and foster the involvement of student athletics of Columbia High School through volunteer and financial support. We will have many ways for people in the community to get involved whether they have kids in the school or not”. 

Tickets can be purchased which includes food provided by Murphy’s Watering Hole in Bingen, and admission to the game. The tailgate event is open to everyone and ticket purchase is not required.

“I am truly excited about what The Bruin Club will be able to bring to all of our sports,” said AJ Valencia, Athletic Director for Columbia High School. “I have seen all of the hard work everyone has been putting into this new organization and have no doubt, they are on to something big.  We are looking forward to a big response to the Community Tailgate and filling the stands for the  first home game of the season.”

Recognizing the need to provide financial support to the high school’s sports programs, the objective of the not-for-profit The Bruin Club is to generate donations, visibility, and community impact for the White Salmon-Bingen region by creating outstanding fundraising events and experiences for visitors and local fans of all ages.

Tickets to the 2023 CHS Football Community Tailgate will be made available in July. Be on the lookout for more announcements and information on how you can participate.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Bruin  Club broadens, enhances, and fosters the involvement of student athletic and extracurricular activities at Columbia High School through volunteer and financial support.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND VISION STATEMENT

The Bruin Club exists to broaden the involvement of students, student’s families, the school, and the community by supporting the success of all student athletic and extracurricular activities connected with Columbia High School, including for such purposes, the raising, managing, and distribution of funds and resources contributed from the community and elsewhere within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”).

The Bruin Club works to achieve this through the active participation of as many parents and supporters as possible in club programs and by working closely with the Athletic Director and Administration of Columbia High School as follows:

  • To promote and encourage student, parent, community participation, and pride in CHS athletic activities and extracurricular activities, as an active participant, supporter, or volunteer.

  • To raise funds to assist all school athletic and extracurricular programs and to build an endowment for the future.  

  • To foster and promote goodwill and community spirit in CHS athletics and extracurricular activities throughout the District.

  • To support, promote, and maintain high standards of integrity and good sportsmanship in all athletic and extracurricular activities.

  • To strengthen and encourage participation in community youth sports programs and integrate the Club’s mission, purpose, and vision into those programs.

  • To promote and inspire attendance at all school athletic and extracurricular activities by the parents, students, community residents, faculty, and staff of the White Salmon Valley School District.

  • To assist in minimizing school expenses through volunteering services.
