CHS Social Studies Teacher, 1.0 FTE

Starting in the 2025/2026 school year
2024-25 Salary: $55,459 - $102,527 DOE
2025-2026 Salary Schedule will use schedule above + State IPD (TBD) + 2%

Medical, Dental, Vision, WA State Retirement, 403(b), Sick Leave, Personal Days, WA State Family Leave

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State teaching certificate with Social Studies and English endorsements or ability to obtain

    them

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement a program of study following state standards that meet the

    individual needs and abilities of the students by providing effective, differentiated instruction using research-

    based practices

  • Demonstrate ability to establish and implement, in a positive and supportive manner, classroom policies and

    procedures governing student behavior and conduct; provide guidance, counseling, and discipline to

    encourage students to meet standards of achievement and conduct; make referrals for assistance where

    appropriate

  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate technology into the classroom

  • Demonstrate ability to implement effective formative and summative assessment practices that promote

    student engagement and learning growth

  • Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and productively with a variety of students, staff, and parents

  • Demonstrate the ability to articulate and implement teaching practices that develop the social and emotional

    intelligence of high school students

  • Demonstrate ability to productively collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community

    environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual ability English/ Spanish

  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement Social Studies classes

  • Commitment to participate in extracurricular activities

  • Ability to teach other courses as qualified for and needed

  • Knowledge of working within an extended period classroom

  • GLAD/SIOP/AVID trained
