This class is designed to give students a background in indoor and outdoor activities they can participate in after high school. Activities may include volleyball, badminton, softball, frisbee golf, pickleball, basketball, and soccer. Emphasis of this program will be on lifelong fitness. Attendance and participation are vital components of a student’s grade.

NOTE: Sophomores and Juniors may take the course two trimesters. Seniors may take the course only one trimester, unless space is available.
This course is designed for those students who have an intense desire to increase their overall fitness and/or improve their athletic performance. Workouts will be weight training based, and will feature core lifts such as squat, power clean, deadlift, and bench presses as the foundation. Secondary exercise such as work with dumbbells, selectorized machines and other strength training apparatus will also be incorporated. Special attention is given to flexibility, speed, agility, and quickness drills, and abdominal/core strength exercises as well. Attendance and participation are vital components of a student’s grade.

Students in this course will learn and practice exercises to remain fit, flexible, and free from injury for the rest of their lives. Using gentle movement and breathing patterns drawn from dance, yoga, cross-fit and rugby training, each class session will include activities to improve cardiovascular capacity, core strength, and muscle flexibility.
