About Me

I graduated from South Albany High School in Albany, Oregon in 1977--Home of the Rebels!
A love of my business classes led me to Southern Oregon State College (SOSC) in Ashland, Oregon, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education. I went on to earn my Master's degree from SOSC as well.
In November 2007, I earned my National Board Teacher Certification and renewed that certification in 2016.

The 2017-2018 school year marks my 19th here at Columbia High School.  In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am also the adviser for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). This year, I will be a Sophomore Adviser and continue to work with the Class of 2020. Mr. Olin and I will also be the sponsors for the Class of 2020 and will work with them during Homecoming and other activities. I enjoy many activities here at CHS, including Homecoming (October 9-13), sporting events, & Prom.

Prio to coming to CHS, I taught at Columbia Gorge Community College and Clark College. I have substitute taught in all grade levers K-12 and taught for 3 years at the alternative high school. Combined, I have more than 30 years' experience as an educator.

I am married and have three children. My daughter, Aharon, graduated from CHS in 2003 and from Oregon State University in 2007. She currently lives and works in Negaunee, Michigan.

My son, Jegar, graduated from CHS in 2005 and then attended Central Washington University working on a degree in Community Health. He is married (Kassie), lives in The Dalles and works at Cash and Carry.

My youngest son, Neal, graduated from CHS in 2010 and from the University of Portland in 2015 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was also in the Airforce ROTC program at UP and is currently a pilot stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, flying the C17. Soon to be married to Emily (September 2).

I have four grandchildren and love time spent with them.

I enjoy swimming, hiking, yoga, and knitting.
