Leadership Class
Leadership Class Overview

Course Description:

The mission of the Columbia High School Leadership Class is to develop responsible student leaders. Responsible student leadership is an ethical act of inspiring others toward positive change through the accomplishment of common goals. All Leadership-sponsored activities represent, both in perception and practice, an appreciation for the excellence and positive spirit of Columbia High School.

At CHS, we believe that:

• Leadership can be developed, learned, and demonstrated.

• Leadership occurs inclusively among diverse members of groups.

• Leaders are most effective when a core set of competencies is mastered and communication occurs.

• Leadership involves teamwork AND building an independent identity.

General Objectives:

Students in this course will have the opportunity to increase their understanding and effectiveness of leadership skills and processes. We will focus on the importance of communication, character, personal growth and building strong relationships.
